ARTISTS STATEMENT

Having spent several years in a miserable marriage, where my confidence was degraded to almost nothing, I now realise that self-belief is one of the most powerful things we all have at our disposal. Over the two years following the final collapse of my marriage, I gradually came to terms with who I am as an individual and learned not only to appreciate myself, but to love me for who I am. There are people on the world who don't understand my sense of humour and outlook on life. That's their choice, not mine. I can now look at myself and feel happy with life, confident at who I am - not who others want me to be. I laugh at myself when I do crazy things, and I'd like others to see that too. That's why I think ISM is a fantastic project - a chance for us to share how we perceive ourselves with the rest of the world. No hype, no special effects, no holds barred.
