Anyone who knows me - friends, family, colleagues, boyfriends, people I have slept with will know that I am not a confident person in general, let alone body confident. This is something I think a lot about in my day to day life. I'd look at myself in the mirror and have felt embarrassed about the way I look. I go in and out of eating disorders and have had problems with my skin. This past week I have gathered my thoughts together and thought - what if my 'imperfections' are actually not in anyway negative but in fact a positive. They are part of my body, making me unique and who I am. Spots, scabs, scars, lumps and bumps - I embrace them. Learning that my body can make stunning shapes, shades, tones and angles. I am proud that this is my body. What I may have seen as 'imperfect' in my body may seem beautiful to someone else. And now I appreciate that. No matter what size, shape, colour, age, race of gender the human body is incredible. Love your body and embrace it.
